Vermiculite is not as easy to buy in bulk as author writes and it can be expensive. You may need to look up the profiles of some plants on the net, as the book is missing a few descriptions of vegetables. I'm not sure about fertilizer being unnecessary as the plants have different nutritional requirements. It could be the matter of applying the right compost though. I find it impossible to completely avoid weeds, although they are easy to remove. Author is not exaggerating with the soil mix being difficult to overwater. It can be a problem in the areas prone to draughts, as the garden requires a lot of water there.
